Pastor & Leadership Appreciation Month

Paul, in 1 Timothy (5:17) began the concept of clergy appreciation when he stated that “the elders of the church are worthy of a double honor” He reiterated this idea in 1 Thessalonians (5: 12-13) when he stated that that “those who work hard among you should be held in the highest regard for their work.” Of course, back in those days, there was no greeting card company to take the charge to commercialize our thanks.

At our church, we have extended the tradition of showing appreciation to our pastors to include our ministry leaders, too. While the call on one’s life is different, and we do honor that among our ordained staff members, we also know that we have ministry leaders who work diligently to further the mission of Christ through their ministries in Spring Arbor.

Would you pray for our pastor/leaders? Not just in October, but year ‘round? Would you send a note of appreciation and encouragement? Would your Community Group be creative in encouraging a staff member? Do you have the gift of baking? There’s nothing like a sweet treat to say, “I appreciate you!”
