Winckles English Class

In 2015 Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church sent a VISA team to Budapest and several team members attended the English class. It was immediately apparent that the students hold the Winckles in high regard for their well-prepared lessons, loving hearts, and caring attitudes. One student whispered to Joyce Thompson, “It’s much more than just studying the language.”

Recently Larry and Katie went to the funeral of a former English class student. They were joined by three other students who remembered him as well. It provided a vivid picture of the absolute hopelessness of living and dying without knowing God. While it was depressing to experience, it was a confirmation for their purpose for being in Hungary. Please pray for the Winckles that the Holy Spirit will guide further discussions with those who attended the funeral about the real hope found in Jesus, and that the blessing they shared with the widow would comfort her and create a desire to know the God of all comfort.

The English classes at the Family Help Center run during the school year, but the Free Methodist leadership team plans an English and ice-cream event in the Ministry Center during the summer and invites everyone to attend. This year’s annual summer gathering occurred on the hottest day of the summer (so far). Everyone had a great time and enjoyed each other’s company as well as the ice cream and English practice!

The Winckles will be in Spring Arbor on Sunday, July 16. The Ambassador’s Community Group invites you to lunch with them after church at the Spring Arbor University Dining Commons. Cost is $9.00 at the door. RSVP to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Larry and Katie will also be sharing an update on their work in the Sunday Vesper service at 6:00 pm.
