The Scattering Begins
Sunday, February 26, the day of our offering for missions, 40 pairs of donated socks were packed and ready to be “scattered” with the love of Jesus to Hope Africa University in Burundi, Africa. On Monday, teams of women sorted and packaged 523 more pairs of socks for distribution by cross-cultural mission trips.
I am grateful that the socks are sorted, the flags are down, and nearly 200 t-shirts were sold, raising $1200. I’m especially grateful for the work of more than 120 volunteers who contributed to missions month. Hopefully, this month will help keep the flame of missions alive in our hearts.
What an encouragement it was to learn that our offering exceeded our goal!
I’m proud of my colleague Diana Nally, missions chair at Jackson Free Methodist Church, who just completed their first ever month of missions - it was awesome and tasty!
Thank you, Pastor Mark, for putting missions at the forefront of our attention for a whole month and for leading our church by wholeheartedly endorsing Kingdom work around the world.
