VBS an Answer to Prayer

The Fox Family

The Maker Fun Factory was the first SAFMC Vacation Bible School experience for our three children, Sarah, Leslie & Henry.  We wanted to share what an uplifting, faith-building experience it was for them!

Sarah, our 13 year-old, volunteered for nursery, before we even had a chance to encourage her to participate! She enjoyed her first night so much, she invited her neighborhood friend to help for the rest of the week. By the end of VBS, they were doing all the songs & motions right along with the younger kids. It was fun to see their enthusiasm and great to see them leading little ones in worship!

Eleven-year-old Leslie has a tendency to be overwhelmed and withdrawn in large groups, in part due to her hearing impairment. Her first night at VBS was no exception. What a joy and surprise to see her excited to attend, engaging with her group, learning the songs and motions, and even getting up with all the kids on Sunday to sing in the service!

Henry is eight years old. His excitement began with the robot building activity at home, with high hopes of “winning” the ice cream prize. He was not disappointed! He commented that he was able to understand the lessons and was able to share something he’d learned each night. He loved the science experiments! Being new to SAFMC, Henry felt good about meeting new friends.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all those with the passion and gifts willing to share God’s Word with our kids. It is an answer to prayer to see all of our kids involved in church, growing in their faith & experiencing God’s unconditional love.
