God Comes to Us in Our Not Seeking

The story of God’s coming to the shepherds is a fascinating detail in the nativity story. The shepherds were nobodies. God chose a common, seemingly insignificant group of shepherds to be the first recipients of the news of the Savior’s birth. God comes to us even in our not-seeking. God comes to us to fulfill His eternal purposes for His eternal Glory. The Christmas story is awash with grace. In how many ways does God intervene, initiate, provide, and reveal Himself to us when we are not even looking? How much more when we are looking!
