Pastor Mark starts our World Outreach month talking about Scattered from Acts 8:1-8. After the stoning of Stephen, a great persecution broke out. Everyone except the apostles scattered. And yet, Philip went down to a city in Samaria and preached. The Holy Spirit confirmed his preaching with power to heal and exorcise demons. This was an indication of God’s mercy and favor on the Samaritan people. Everywhere the apostles went, they preached the Gospel. God was allowing the persecution so that seeds of the Gospel could be sown. There is fear and chaos with the scattering, and joy in the Samaritan city as they received the Gospel. Joy follows wherever the Gospel travels.
