The Fierce Urgency and Opportunity of Now
John Hay serves as Director of Advancement for International Child Care Ministries, which supports over 20,000 children in 30 nations. Pastor Hay notes that NOW is the moment of crisis and opportunity in three areas. First, our personal stories of forgiveness, release, freedom, and empowerment to serve. Second, is the Free Methodist response to spiritual and social crises in the past (racism, slavery, poverty, holiness); and third, our challenges and opportunities in the present, with a special emphasis on abolition. Pastor John wants to fuel what Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church is doing in mobilizing and leading as new abolitionists, but also will call for a response to grace’s persistent, present invitation at the most personal level.
